Pricing: Starts at $25 per month for up to 300 subscribers and unlimited sends. The price increases based on the size of your list.
It’s a direct extension of your eCommerce store, relatively simple to install and user-friendly. It also has basic automation and a range of sleek templates. A bonus of this provider is that, it's accessible from right within your Shopify dashboard. We would consider this a good starter platform.
All merchants with a paid Shopify plan have 2,500 free emails to send at the beginning of every month. Emails are counted based on each individual email address that an email activity is sent to. For example, sending 1 promotional email to 800 subscribers counts as 800 emails and one activity. Unused emails don't carry over to the following month. You can send additional emails beyond the 2,500 free emails at a cost of $0.001 USD per additional email.

This multi-channel provider is a slick tool that offers targeted automation at various stages of the customer journey such as browse abandonment, cart abandonment and order confirmations. Products listed in the store can automatically be added into emails and it’s one of the only providers that offer nifty features like scratch cards, gift boxes and other incentives. In addition to email, Omnisend also offers FB and WhatsApp messaging.
Pricing: FREE for up to 15,000 emails per month. Up to $199 per month for Pro, but with an upper limit of 9,000 subscribers. Enterprise is a flat $2,000 per month.
An ideal provider for beginners or smaller merchants. It’s not the most feature-rich or advanced provider, but what MailerLite lacks in sophistication, it makes up for it in ease of use and cost. One great feature is that it automatically generates segments based on customer history, for example, first-timers, repeat customers and high spenders.
Pricing: $10 per month for up to 1,000 subscribers. Up To $50 per month for 10,000 subscribers.
A more sophisticated option, Drip has super-sophisticated segmentation and automation features. Even the smallest actions by customers can trigger targeted automated responses. Drip also offers the option of integrating with Facebook Customer Audiences, which means that targeted Facebook ads can be combined with automated Shopify campaigns. Drip integrates with most eCommerce platforms including Shopify, Magento, and Woo Commerce.
Why didn’t MailChimp make our list of email providers for eCommerce? The direct MailChimp to Shopify integration is no longer available for new downloads, and you’ll have to use a 3rd party integration like Zapier or Automate.io for connecting your Shopify store to MailChimp. While we love MailChimp as a robust email marketing option, it’s not worth it if you have your eCommerce store on Shopify.
